• We believe in you and your body. We listen intently to you- your body knows what to do. We believe in being client centered vs. provider centered.  

• We believe in asking, not telling. We are for you taking hold of your power and following your heart and intuition.

• We believe your power is yours and should not be relinquished to anyone else. You deserve respect and the right to make your own decisions during pregnancy and birth. We do not support fear induced misinformation. Birth does not have to be scary. 

• We believe birth is sacred. It's a becoming. 

Starting January 2027, every Aurora client is supported by a dedicated team of two or three midwives from their first prenatal visit through postpartum care.

We made this change on purpose. As Aurora has grown, we wanted to make sure that growth never came at the cost of the intimacy that makes home birth what it is. A smaller, consistent team means you are known deeply, your story, your preferences, your concerns, by the same midwives who will be with you at your birth.

Your team meets regularly, stays closely informed on your care, and brings the full depth of Aurora's training and values to you. You get the benefit of multiple skilled minds and the comfort of familiar faces. Midwives who are well supported and working with a sustainable caseload give better care.

At your birth, one midwife from your care team will attend alongside a student midwife or birth assistant. Aurora is a teaching practice and we are proud of that. The student midwives in our program are trained, supervised, and an integral part of the care you receive. Your team is also backed by the rest of the Aurora midwives, so that if two families need us at the same moment, you are never without experienced hands.
