Building Aurora Midwifery has truly been a labor of love. After having my own empowering home birth in 2011, I was completely hooked on birth and the transformative power it has. It showed me the depth of my own strength and I have never looked back. After my son’s birth, midwifery called my name.
My life’s work is to make sure you are seen, heard, cared for and deeply supported throughout your pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Those are the values that drive our team and everything we do here. We believe you are capable, you are strong, you are the expert on your own body and baby, and you have the wisdom make the decisions that are right for your family. We are here to walk with you, love on you and support you however we can.

Why a Dedicated Care Team?
Every Aurora client is supported by a dedicated team of two or three midwives from their first prenatal visit through postpartum care.
As Aurora has grown, we wanted to make sure that growth never came at the cost of the intimacy that makes home birth what it is. A smaller, consistent team means you are known deeply, your story, your preferences, and your concerns, by the same midwives who will be with you at your birth.
Your team meets regularly, stays closely informed on your care, and brings the full depth of Aurora's training and values to you. You get the benefit of multiple skilled minds and the comfort of familiar faces. Midwives who are well supported and working with a sustainable caseload give better care.
At your birth, one midwife from your care team will attend alongside an experienced student midwife or birth assistant. Your team is also backed by the rest of the Aurora midwives, so if two families need us at the same moment, you are never without experienced hands you can trust.
We Believe
We believe in you and your body. We listen intently to you, your body knows what to do. We believe in being client centered, not provider centered.
We believe in asking, not telling. We are for you taking hold of your power and following your heart and intuition.
We believe your power is yours and should not be relinquished to anyone else. You deserve respect and the right to make your own decisions during pregnancy and birth. We do not support fear induced misinformation. Birth does not have to be scary.
We believe birth is sacred. It's a becoming.

We absolutely love Aurora Midwifery! With their help, we've now had two healthy baby girls at home and we feel beyond blessed! This team of midwives are always quick to respond to every question; they spend ample time assessing yours and baby's health during pregnancy and they provide endless referrals to every possible provider that you and baby may need during and after birth. We love their readiness to care for you at every hour of the day. We love that they come back to your home several times after baby is born so that you don't have to leave your home. They're concerned not only about birth and delivery but also about your postpartum recovery. We love each and every midwife on the team and their own unique gifting that we so richly benefit from.

Aurora midwifery is absolutely amazing! They all go above and beyond for those in their care. After a traumatic hospital birth Aurora helped me have such a healing home birth.
