Placenta encapsulation is the process of dehydrating the placenta after birth putting them into capsules for the mother to consume. Placenta tinctures are infused with alcohol to help it last longer.
Consuming the placenta can help the body heal faster after childbirth because it introduces healthy vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that can be lost during the childbirth process. There are many reported benefits of ingesting the placenta, including increased breastmilk supply, increased production of oxytocin, decreased stress and depression, and increased iron levels.

For our placenta encapsulation services we use the raw method, also known as the “simple method.” This method involves preparing the placenta by dehydrating it without first steaming it. This is in contrast to the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method which involves steaming the placenta before dehydration. In reference to the placenta, people often argue that this method yields a medicinal remedy with more hormones and nutrients than the TCM method.

A placenta tincture is a liquid extract made from the placenta, usually by steeping a piece of raw or dehydrated placenta in high-proof alcohol. This process is said to capture the placenta's nutrients and hormones. The tincture is typically prepared over several weeks and is often used after a mother has finished her placenta capsules.

If you would like a few raw pieces of placenta saved to add to smoothies, we typically can reserve 7-10 small pieces for you to put in your freezer and add to a smoothie. It is recommended to use strong flavored fruits like strawberries and pineapple in the smoothie.
